A very special kitchen installation for Ysgol Crug Glas

As part of our work on the restoration of Palace Theatre, we’ve built excellent local relationships with charities and schools. We’ve told you about some of our exploits for Matt’s Café and St Iltyds Primary School.

However, just up the street from the Palace site, and opposite our offices in old Lamb Inn, there’s Ysgol Crug Glas – a very special school based in the heart of Swansea, providing specialist education for pupils aged 3-19 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex autistic spectrum needs

Part of the Ysgol Crug Glas mission is providing dynamic, varied, enjoyable and challenging teaching and learning experiences for pupils – so we offered to help them add more variety to their play areas with a brand new mud kitchen, built sustainably from spare materials from our Palace Theatre site.

After installing thousands of kitchens over the years in the Swansea area, this was one of our more exciting projects – and we were thrilled to learn that the children enjoyed it greatly from the School Administration.

I am writing to thank you for your very kind donation of a mud kitchen, we are extremely grateful for all the time and effort that you have given into making it. The kitchen is amazing!

We have given the mud kitchen to one of our classes and the pupils absolutely love it.

May I, on behalf of the staff and pupils of Ysgol Crug Glas, thank you once again for your support and kind donation, it is very much appreciated.
