R&M Williams Ltd worked with local housing organisation RCT Homes to transform Dyllas Court into a modern and spacious retirement complex. The development won Silver for showing the highest levels of consideration towards the public, its workforce and the environment through adhering to the Considerate Constructors Five Point Scheme. We received high scores across the 5 categories required by the scheme, specifically in ‘Respecting the Community’ where close contact was kept with the elderly residents and the local community throughout the project and ‘Protecting the Environment’ where 96% of waste produced was diverted from landfill, utilisation of local labour and a Cycle to Work scheme was encouraged with the Site Manager cycling to and from site every day. The project team worked tirelessly to achieve the resulting Silver Award which was well deserved.
Mark Wardill, Senior Quantity Surveyor at RCT Homes said, “It is fantastic to see R & M Williams recognised for their best practice. During the development of Dyllas Court it was important to RCT Homes to strengthen relationships with the community and create a link between our sheltered residents and local people. Working with R & M Williams enabled us to manage the build with local support and deliver a great modernisation project on time and on budget.”
