R&M Williams’ development makes final of RICS award

Swansea’s Urban Village has been shortlisted for ‘regeneration of the year’ in the National Final of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors annual awards.

R&M Williams has worked on the £25million project which is being led by Coastal Housing Group. We have built residential accommodation, as well as high-quality office space to regenerate and attract new businesses to the area, which was previously in decline.

This is the second project that we have worked on with Coastal Housing Group, having successfully delivered the Creative Cluster, which is Wales’ first dedicated space purely for use by the creative industries.

We’re really pleased to have already secured accolades from the project, including Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Large Commercial Building Award for 2017 as well as being shortlisted for the Chartered Institute Housing’s “Most Community Focussed Contractor” for commitment to sustainable construction and finalist for Federation Master Builders Commercial Building category .

On top of this, the Urban Village won the Welsh RICS regeneration project award and is now going forward to the National Awards, where it is up against 11 other projects from around the UK.
