Tesco Express

A new £1m Tesco Express Store, with 3 flats and an office above. The works included demolition of existing shops and restaurant within a confined seaside residential area. We also carried out reduced level excavation to form undercroft new structural steel work frame and masonry infill panels.

The ground floor was constructed to shell and core then handed to Tesco to fit out as Tesco Express Store. The first and second floor single and double living accommodation was promoted by the development to social housing landlords. The roof works incorporated both flat and slate roofing and internal finishes were developed to a basic standard thus allowing future landlord flexibility of layout and design. The works also incorporated the installation of a new substantial access road to adaptable standard and off road parking.

During these works, R&M Williams staff put together a times capsule which was buried under the last section of foundations.
