Narberth

We designed and built 15 3-4 bedroom houses for open market sale and 4 one-bedroom flats for Social Housing Rental on behalf of Wales & West Housing Association in the old market town of Narberth.

A significant challenge for this project was that there were no Gas Services in place to facilitate the new build, so we committed effort and investment to tap into an existing gas main located half a mile from the site in an environmentally rich area. We carried out this work with minimal disruption and keen sensitivity to the environment.

To save costs and reduce environmental impact, we put together a comprehensive waste management plan, including recycling, the use of recyclates, accurate order placement, and co-ordinated deliveries. We also engaged with GD Environmental for collection and recycling of waste and covered additional fees to gain the maximum reduction to landfill.

Another significant challenge for this project was working and completing during the Covid19 Pandemic including the lockdown period. Aside from the usual measures, as noted by Welsh Government guidance, to keep crowding on site to a minimum, we committed to off-site manufacture of fittings, with logistics planned to ensure safe conduct. We successfully delivered the project with no H&S Issues relating to Covid19, and used this success to inform our approach going forward.
