Framework for Internal & External Disability Adaptations – Cardiff Council

We were awarded principal contractor role in 2017 for the internal and external adaptations framework for properties throughout Cardiff, under the Disability Access Grants.

The works included:

Refurbishment and adaptation of bathrooms
Building wetroom extensions
Installing wet-rooms, specialist WC/Baths and level access showers
Excavation and installation of modular ramps
Building accessibility scooter stores
Installing hand rails, hoists, supports
Repairing/widening steps
Widening doors
Landscaping to make good after external works
Organising and facilitating of stairlift fitting

We worked exclusively in occupied properties, often with vulnerable individuals, so our Community outreach was crucial to ensuring we consider any special needs or requirements. Our Resident Liaison Officers and Site Managers went above and beyond to get to know residents better, and get to know the neighbourhood by hosting open days at a nearby venue – an excellent opportunity to introduce ourselves, gather feedback, and answer questions.

We held a record of 16 months at 100% KPI, and we built strong relationships with Cardiff Council and their residents, through prompt communication and quality workmanship.

We have now applied and won principal contractor position on the new framework – 2021-2024 – and we will continue to work with Cardiff Council at the same high standards demonstrated since 2017.
